COMPARISON BETWEEN THE ACADEMIC WRITING AND CREATIVE WRITING

INCEPTION:

Writing is an art through which writers express themselves. However, the purpose of writing varies from one field of writing to another. CONVENTIONAL VS. INFORMAL WRITING:

Another sharp difference between academic writing and creative writing is the use of jargons. The nature of academic writing demands an individual to use this jargon and terminology in its dealings with the particular subject.

However it is also acceptable to take out these terminologies when the writer is not addressing to a particular niche market. The diverse audience would not find it feasible to deal with such particular jargons. On the other hand creative writing does not have any specific terminology as it addresses the diverse audience and is quite in an informal tone.

DIFFERENCE OF EXPRESSIONS:

Creatives writings often comprises of many divergent characters. These characters must stand out as unique as compared to other characters as it is the demand of characterization. Each character then goes to express himself in a more colloquial style. Then the whole concept of creative writing is dead.

DIFFERENCE OF RHETORIC:

The purpose of writing is basically is to craft something. Both academic and creative writings aim to craft something but in varying manner. When the writer has the freedom and responsibility to craft the original opinions.

In academic writing a writer do not enjoy the freedom of expressing his own tale as he pleases. However he can have the freedom to choose among the most valuable rhetoric style associated with academic writings in order to put his views in an explicit way.

CONCEPT OF AN OBLIGATION AND AN OPPORTUNITY:

Creative writing is an opportunity based upon the God gifted talent. Every creative writer is unique in his potential to carry on this task. However academic writing is not as such an opportunity rather it is an obligation. It is the requirement of an academic career of an individual. Without the fulfillment of this obligation, one cannot image the completion of one’s academic career. Also the future of an academic writer is dependent upon such writings in the facet of the fact that passing grades are playing an important role in career building.
